Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Location: Houston, TX 77079 (In-Office Only)
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part- Time

Summary

A well-established CPA firm is seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to focus on tax preparation and review for a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals, estates, trusts, and small businesses. This is a non-leadership, long-term role ideal for someone who values steady, high-quality work in a quiet, team-oriented office environment .

This in-office role offers flexible hours , a low-stress culture , and is not intended for candidates pursuing a fast-track leadership trajectory.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns (individual, corporate, estate, trust)
• Perform tax planning and analysis for clients
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records
• Communicate clearly with clients and team members regarding tax and financial matters
• Ensure all filings and documents meet regulatory requirements and deadlines
• Collaborate with the team to support firm-wide deliverables and tax season demand
• Assist with year-end close and financial statement preparation
• Uphold the firm’s standards of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality

Education & Experience

• Active CPA license (or in final licensing stage)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 2–4 years of tax experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a CPA firm setting
• Experience with estates, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals preferred
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple client files accurately with minimal oversight

Work Schedule

• Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Part-time or flexible scheduling available based on candidate
• In-office only (no remote/hybrid)
• Overtime required during tax season (January–April)

Supervisory Responsibility

• No supervisory duties
• Reports directly to Managing Partner
