Position Summary Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $66,000 - $73,000 per year
The Assistant Athletic Director for Events and Communications will oversee all aspects of operational planning and management of home events, marketing and media communications, statistics, and special events sponsored by Athletics. Additionally, this position will be the administrator at home games, ensuring the successful execution of game-day initiatives, and collaborating closely with facilities management to maintain proper athletic event standards.

Duties: - Provides guidance and leadership to all staff to execute successful home games/meets and special events (such as conference, NCAA postseason contests, Banquets, etc). Oversees the staging and management of all home athletics events.
- Oversees the Sports Information office, including the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications and student workers.
- Hires, trains, and supervises the student workers who assist with home event management in such areas as tickets, concessions, promotions and game/meet operations.
- Collaborates with campus departments and organizations to enhance student participation in Athletics events.
- Collaborates with University Marketing/Communications Department in executing promotion of all athletic accomplishments and events to increases awareness through print and electronic media, advertising, web content, videos, community partners, and social media platforms.
- Devises and executes plans geared towards increasing visibility and brand, both internally and externally, for the Athletics Department and the university.
- Provides vision for all creative functions as it pertains to multimedia content creation.
- Collaborates with coaches and athletics staff on all marketing materials needed for events both internal and external.
- Responsible for website management and content in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications.
- Responsible for the implementation of FPU, PacWest Conference and NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to game management activities.
- Works collaboratively with coaches and staff on planning and execution of events.
- Serves as the designated event administrator for all FPU Athletics home events and works with the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations in securing another athletics staff member to fill that role when there are conflicting events.
- Works closely with the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations to oversee activities related to hosting NCAA/PacWest championships.
- Works closely with the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations and Facilities Staff (custodial services, landscaping, and building maintenance) and the head coaches in the maintenance of athletics facilities for gameday.
- Commits to and is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the University, the PacWest Conference and the NCAA with the utmost integrity.
- Works cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, attends department meetings and activities, and always represents the University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and general public.
- Works collaboratively with the Athletics Facilities & Event Operations Coordinator
- Serve as a member of the leadership team within the athletic department.
- Complete tasks timely with work that is comprehensive, complete, and accurate
- Communicates clearly, listens attentively, and seeks to understand others
- Collaborates productively with colleagues of varying skillset

Qualifications Qualifications: - Minimum qualifications include an undergraduate degree and one year of experience in a college or professional sports setting, or equivalent.
- Experience in the administration and planning of various athletic and special events.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, possess expertise in customer service management, and excel in written and verbal communication. Additionally, the ability to collaborate effectively with coaches, staff, and external stakeholders is required.
- Strong organizational abilities are necessary to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
- Experience in SIDEARM website editing and statistical programs, such as NCAA Live Stats and Statcrew, is also a plus.
University Information Environmental Conditions: - Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
- Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
- Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.
Physical Demands: - This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.
