Right now, were on the hunt for a creative, detail-oriented Associate Email Developer (HTML) to join our dynamic team. This role is a hybrid adventurework from anywhere most days, with chances to collaborate in person when needed. What Youll Do The Associate Email Developer (HTML) is a digital marketer whos not just a coding whiz, but also a problem solver with a passion for creating beautiful, responsive emails that wow across all devices and platforms. Your primary role focuses on all aspects of creating an effective email, with an emphasis on coding responsive emails in HTML/CSS and AMPscript that render across all browsers and devices, documentation, reporting, A/B testing, data segmentation, list management, and performance improvement. The ideal candidate is curious, eager to learn, and loves staying ahead of the latest email marketing trends. If youre someone who enjoys tinkering with code, testing new ideas, and finding innovative ways to boost performance, youll feel right at home. As bandwidth allows, the candidate may also support additional marketing projects beyond email development. The ideal candidate should be able to create and resize graphics and images, edit and customize existing email templates, write HTML/CSS from scratch, and troubleshoot rendering issues. Experience with AMPscript is preferred, as the role involves implementing dynamic content and personalization logic within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This candidate is also responsible for monitoring, testing, optimizing, and continuously improving email performance. Essential Functions Code and build mobile-responsive emails using HTML, CSS, and AMPscript within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (formerly ExactTarget). Implement dynamic email content using AMPscript and conditional logic, based on the specific requirements of each email/project. Plan and execute A/B tests to evaluate and improve email performance, manage the testing calendar, track results, report insights, and recommend optimizations. Tests may include subject lines, message content, CTAs, customer segments, send times, and new features intended to drive engagement and boost performance. Leverage Litmus or similar email testing tools to ensure proper rendering and maintain quality assurance across environments, including optimized display in dark mode. Troubleshoot and resolve rendering issues to ensure consistent and visually accurate email display across multiple clients and devices. Design and deploy one-time and recurring emails, as well as customized journeys with dynamic content and conditional logic, while tracking KPIs and reporting on performance. Maintain the email marketing project calendar and ensure all deadlines are met. Stay abreast of industry best practices, trends, and email marketing regulations; provide strategic recommendations on incorporating new techniques to enhance overall effectiveness and compliance. What You Bring Must-Haves Professional experience in email marketing, with a primary focus on hands-on development of dynamic email content-- preferably within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Proficient in building responsive HTML emails. Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS, with the ability to troubleshoot rendering issues across email clients. Familiarity with platform-specific scripting languages such as AMPscript or RPL; JavaScript knowledge is a plus. Experience using tools to test and ensure consistent email rendering across various devices, browsers, and platforms, including proper display in dark mode. Competencies And Skills Strong understanding of email marketing regulations, industry best practices, and compliance standards. Ability to code responsive emails that render consistently across email clients, browsers, and devices. Proficient in CSS for styling and formatting email content. Hands-on experience working with content management system(s). Experienced in optimizing images and HTML code specifically for email. Comfortable analyzing performance metrics to inform data-driven decisions. Problem-solver with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make strategic recommendations. Open to adopting new tools, technologies, and approaches, including AI, with a continuous learning mindset. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently. Preferred Education And Experience Bachelors degree in marketing, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience 2+ years of hands-on experience in HTML email development as a primary focus Loyalty/rewards knowledge preferred. Financial Services, Credit Union, Bank, and Payments experience is a plus. Marketing and campaign management lifecycle skills Front-end development experience Work Environment & Physical Demands This job operates in a professional office environment. However, the final salary may be higher or lower than the stated range, and this range may be adjusted in the future. An employees placement within the salary range will depend on various factors, including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the needs of the business or organization.
