GENERAL SUMMARY: Professional with at least 1-5 years of proven experience providing engineering and analysis support, preferably in a DoD and/or laboratory setting. LOCATION: Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, West Bethesda, MD Principal Duties/Responsibilities Research marine environmental equipment for the US Navy. Draft test plans and operating procedures for research and development laboratory testing and evaluation purposes. Conduct testing and evaluation of marine environmental systems in a laboratory setting; troubleshooting systems when necessary. Documenting results in the form of equipment matrices, large data analyses, and detailed final reports. EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE MUST HAVE Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental) Requirements Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Able to apply principals of engineering standards to develop test methodology and to perform data analysis. Ability to present test results in a clear and concise manner and to write technical reports is essential. Preferred Experience testing equipment in a laboratory setting. This includes design of experiments, testing the equipment, and data gathering and analysis. Experience in one or more of the following areas: waste processing, heat transfer, and environmental standards/regulations. Experience providing support to Navy or USCG programs and customers. Experience working in the maritime industry.
