BMC is a local, independent, and physician-owned medical group with over 20 primary and specialty care departments, 90 providers, and 325+ clinical and support professionals. Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond.

Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking temporary staff to assist with the abstraction of patient data from our prior NextGen system into our new Epic EMR system! This position is not benefit eligible and will work for approximately 4-16 weeks Monday - Friday, and is based at our BMC Broadway location (2750 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80304). Must be able to work at least 20 hours per week.

Job Summary:

• Analyze, organize, and compile medical information from patients' Next Gen medical record into their chart in Epic.

Essential Duties:

• Extracting Data: Collecting patient data from medical records, including information on diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and outcomes.
• Ensuring Accuracy: Cross-referencing information from multiple sources to ensure the data is accurate and complete.
• Adhering to Guidelines: Following data abstraction guidelines and standards set by the organization.
• Entering Data: Entering abstracted data into a database or registry and maintaining and updating it as needed.

• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Must possess strong grammar and spelling ability as well as the ability to read, write and understand the English language.
• Neat, well-groomed appearance and courteous manner.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance, preferred.

Education

• High school graduate or GED equivalent required
• Medical or nursing student, MA, LPN/RN, or EMT preferred

Experience

• Basic understanding of medical terminology.
• Proficient with Windows-based desktop applications.
• Strong reading comprehension, writing, and communication skills.

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:

• $20- $25 /hour depending on experience

This position will be posted for a minimum of three days, subsequently until filled.
