Backstage Dance Academy, a premier dance studio known for its commitment to excellence and fostering the love of dance, is currently seeking highly skilled and passionate dance instructors. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of recreational and competitive dancers ranging in age from 2 to 18 years old. We are looking for an experienced individual who can teach various dance styles including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, tap and hip hop.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality dance lessons based on the curriculum and syllabus provided.
• Assess the skill level of students and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure their progress and development.
• Create choreography for recitals, competitions, and performances, aligning with the studio’s artistic vision.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, discipline, and teamwork.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their technique, posture, and overall performance to reach their full potential.
• Stay up to date with current dance trends, techniques, and industry standards to enhance teaching methods.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to organize events, workshops, and dance showcases.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on students’ progress and addressing and concerns

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a dance instructor, teaching multiple dance styles to students of various ages and skill levels.
• Strong knowledge of dance technique, terminology, and current trends in the dance industry.
• Ability to create and teach choreography for performances and competitions that showcase dancer’s abilities and challenges them to grow.
• Passion for dance and genuine interest in nurturing the talent and potential of young dancers.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and fellow staff members.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ personal growth and self-expression.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a professional and positive studio environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in dance, preferably in a studio setting.
• Certification or degree in dance or a related field is preferred.
• Availability to teach weekday evenings and weekends, as per the studio schedule.
• Ability to commit to a full dance season (typically August through June) and attend academy events as required.
