Job Description

The Insurance Specialist is responsible for accurately maintaining customer escrow/tax impound accounts while complying with state, regulatory, county, investor and company guidelines.
Responsibilities include:

• Process and research insurance exceptions including lender placed coverage, insurance disbursements, cancellations, insufficient coverage and exception research
• Answer incoming phone calls and make outbound calls
• Board insurance records at time of boarding and verify payment
• Maintain good working relationships with insurance vendors
• Pay insurance bills at policy renewal and update system as changes to the policy occur
• Obtain and pay lender placed insurance as necessary
• Research and deposit insurance refunds and update account
• Resolve escalated customer escrow/impound inquiries and concerns regarding property insurance coverage
• Issue letters to agents/insurance companies and customers regarding insurance coverage
• Order reports and monitor EDI bill files and issue mass payments
• Reconcile and audit accounts as necessary
• Escalate to management any deficiencies, problems or concerns that might be a potential risk
• Other duties as assigned
