The Role of General Merchandise

As masters of operations and efficiency, our team ensures a seamless shopping experience for guests by maintaining product availability, accurate pricing, and proper signage. We manage inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, and promotional processes across all General Merchandise areas of the store.

Your Daily Responsibilities

No two days are the same; however, you will likely:

• Execute a precise and efficient sorting operation.
• Stock, organize, and ensure merchandise in the sales floor is tidy.
• Maintain product availability for GM categories.
• Operate powered equipment for freight handling.
• Process defective merchandise adhering to environmental regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety, ethics, and compliance.
• Assist in guest services such as cashier duties and order pick-up.
• Welcome guests with a friendly greeting and engage them as needed.
• Express gratitude to guests for choosing Target.
• Perform other duties as required by business needs.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Resolve guest inquiries promptly and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
• Remain composed and focused in a busy environment while managing multiple tasks.

• Efficiently scan, handle, and move merchandise; lift up to 44 pounds regularly.
