Job Overview:

Qualifications:

Required:

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Wound and/or ostomy care knowledge
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

Preferred:

• Minimum of 2 years RN experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• BLS through American Heart Association upon hire
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement

Scheduling Requirements :

• Day Shift, 7am-3:30pm, 8am-4:30pm or 9am-5:30pm
• 40 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation

Essential Functions:

• The Registered Nurse will organize and administer individualized age-specific professional care to patients with complex wounds requiring specialized care and treatment in an inpatient acute care setting.
• They will provide nursing care as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the department and the State Nurse Practice Act.
• They will perform thorough wound assessment and wound care for a variety of acute and chronic wounds in accordance with established protocols, assess patients in the context of wound management, including pain assessment, wound measurement and characteristics.
• They will assess underlying etiologies and obtain health history related to the wounds and perform care as directed by the care team.
