McLane Global is seeking a Scheduling Clerk who plays a key role in setting the pace for daily and weekly operations through effective appointment scheduling.

The Scheduling Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all customer and carrier appointment requests are scheduled promptly and efficiently. This role works closely with the Customer Service and Warehouse teams to assess appointment demand and help forecast future scheduling needs.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in maintaining clear communication across departments to support the smooth flow of operations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with internal and external departments regarding late arrivals, appointment rescheduling, and cancellations.
  • Ensure that any applicable fees are accurately assessed to customers in line with company policy.
  • Provide friendly, responsive customer service to support the creation of daily schedules and the timely release of work orders to the Warehouse team for fulfillment.
  • Answer phones and emails, schedule and confirm appointments, and enter customer data into company systems.
  • Organize workflow and appointments by routing correspondence, collecting customer information, and managing scheduling assignments.
  • Respond to customer requests promptly via email or phone, and handle or refer inquiries as appropriate.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality and ensure the protection of sensitive information.
  • Secure and back up appointment data regularly, maintaining detailed logs for easy retrieval.
  • Utilize the company’s filing and retrieval systems to provide historical scheduling references as needed.
  • Support internal sales team by coordinating scheduling and processing orders.
  • Contribute to overall team success by completing related tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  • Provide the Warehouse and Customer Service teams with scheduling outlooks in Excel, comparing appointment demand versus completion for weekly and monthly data review.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or scheduling.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
