GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Under the direction of the Provost Office Systems Architect, this position guides the team towards self-organization and continuous improvement. The Senior Agile Scrum Master will play a crucial role in ensuring that our teams (including but not limited to Student Affairs and Academic Affairs Workday teams) follow Agile and Scrum practices, remove impediments that delay progress, foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning. The Senior Agile Scrum Master is a member of the Provost Office team's Centers of Agility.
The Provost Office Centers of Agility are responsible for managing a broad portfolio of student applications, integrations, and reports through the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Workday Student.
The Senior Agile Scrum Master must have a strong background with experience to facilitate and optimize our Agile development process while maintaining a rigorous commitment to quality, security, and attention to detail.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scrum Process Facilitation: Guide and coach the Scrum Team and organization on Scrum/Agile practices and values, ensuring adherence to Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives).
Team Empowerment: Coach and mentor the development team and product owner on Agile principles and Scrum practices to promote self-organization and cross-functional collaboration.
Remove Impediments: Identify and proactively address any impediments or obstacles that may hinder the team's progress, working closely with stakeholders to find solutions.
Ensure Team Productivity: Monitor team velocity and progress towards sprint goals, adjusting as necessary to ensure the team's productivity and successful completion of deliverables.
Maintain Transparency: Promote transparency within the team by maintaining the Scrum artifacts, such as the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Burndown Charts, metrics, and project reporting, ensuring they are up-to-date and visible to all stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team by fostering innovation, providing feedback, and driving the adoption of Agile best practices.
Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and communication between team members, product owner, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with the product vision and business goals.
Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring they are engaged and informed about the team's progress, and understand the value being delivered.
Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator in conflicts, helping the team to resolve issues in a constructive manner.
Business Requirements : Works with Business Analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to oversee and facilitate the break of business requirements into epics, stories, and tasks.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with some time spent working from the Ivy Tech Indianapolis location required. In compliance with the College's Out of State Workers Policy, only candidates who will reside in and work from the states of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio will be considered for this position.

HIRING RANGE: $85 - 95,000
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent certification is required
Experience in Agile and iterative development collaborating with Scrum teams, Product Owner, and cross-functional groups.
Excellent knowledge of Agile principles and the Scrum framework.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Ability to adapt to different team dynamics and work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Asana, and Trello) is a plus.
Must be able to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrate the ability to analyze and document processes, procedures, etc.
Have a strong foundation in customer service mentality with excellent communication skills.
