Job Description

Vaco is partnered with a financial services firm in CT to help them find a Senior Tax Accountant. The firm provides both wealth and tax advisory services in their two CT locations. This role will be based in their northern location near Manchester, CT. This position is for a tax preparation and planning practice inside of a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, exempt, corporate, and partnership tax returns in compliance with federal and state tax laws.
• Calculation and preparation of personal and business estimated Federal and State tax payments.
• Developing tax and financial strategies and implementing them accordingly
• Communicate with clients and staff to ensure timely deliverable reviews of financial statements with a focus on tax law compliance and profit maximization.
• A strong commitment to professional education and remaining current with the business environment and tax law changes.
• Interpret, investigate, prepare and respond to correspondence from the IRS and other Taxing Agencies. 

Qualifications:

• CPA or EA highly preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the preparation and review of Federal and State tax returns.
