Principal Accountabilities:

  • This role is responsible for operating a propane powered forklift to move finished product off a conveyor to a designated area in storage. The role is also responsible for refilling pallets on a palletizer, changing stretch wrap and topsheet rolls, retrieving empty bags for packaging.
  • Shipping duties include loading van and flat bed trucks, checking in and billing out trucks, answering the phone, loading drop and hook loads scheduled for the following business day, scheduling appointments, filling out safety pre-post inspections on their lift and conducting trailer inspections before loading.
  • Additional responsibilities include dumping unsealed/rejected bags of salt, fixing damaged product, changing out propane tanks, operating pallet inverter and manual stretch wrapper, performing housekeeping duties in their area and more. 
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.. with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Basic use of a computer
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • High School diploma or Equivalent job experience
  • Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklif


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in shipping, related work.
