We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. This role is responsible for making outbound phone calls to businesses in targeted areas to complete structured information surveys. The information collected will support market research, sales planning, and the successful launch of our business internet services.

The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, can follow a script effectively, and accurately records information while maintaining professionalism with business owners and decision-makers.

Responsibilities:

Business Development & Market Research

  • Make outbound calls to businesses in designated service areas.
  • Introduce the purpose of the call and explain the survey in a clear, professional manner.
  • Administer and complete the survey using a provided script and questionnaire.
  • Capture accurate and detailed data into company systems (CRM, spreadsheets, or survey software).
  • Verify and update business contact details during each call.
  • Identify and flag businesses with potential interest in services for follow-up by the sales team.
  • Meet daily/weekly call and survey completion targets.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of all collected data.
  • Provide feedback on common responses, objections, or trends noticed during calls.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to improve calling strategies and survey effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
  • Previous experience in outbound calling, telemarketing, data capturing, or customer service preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow scripts and guidelines while remaining conversational.
  • Comfortable working toward performance targets (call volume, survey completions).
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word) and CRM tools.
  • Professional phone etiquette and ability to handle gatekeepers.

Performance Metrics (Success Indicators)

  • Number of calls completed per day/week.
  • Percentage of surveys successfully completed.
  • Accuracy of data captured (low error rate).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $35,000
  • Commission Potential: $1,000 Monthly Target Incentive
