To serve quality coffee, coffee products and merchandise that meets the customers needs and ensure a positive experience for customers.
**NATURE AND SCOPE**
The Barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. He or she is also responsible for educating customers about our premium coffees and teas. The Barista will fulfill any other duties the Manager, Assistant Manager or other person in charge assigns, and will represent Starbucks and Jerrys Foods in a professional manner.
**ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS**
**Assist customers**
* Sell and serve products to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
* Participate in all sales promotions effectively and efficiently
* Safely handle all hot and cold drinks during drink preparation
* Verbally receive and call back customer orders in a friendly manner
* Report all customer complaints to manager on duty
* Respond pro-actively to prevent customer service situations
* Accurately ring sales orders into cash register and count back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
* Answer telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including but not limited to giving store greeting directions to store location, receiving and filling customer orders
* Answer customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, etc., in a courteous and friendly manner
* Sell and serve baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.
* Maintain efficient, friendly service standards.
**Assists with store operations**
* Restock shelves when necessary.
* Routinely clean the counter area, floor, glass, etc.
* Take out trash
* Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments.
* Report potential safety hazards to the manager or person in charge.
* Report all employee accidents to the manager or person in charge
* Inform the manager or person in charge of any operational inconsistencies
**Maintains product knowledge and communicates appropriately with customers**
* Ensure that customers are educated on our products and services
* Maintain the highest quality, consistent product standards
* Follow all company drink recipes and procedures
**Follow all store and department policies and procedures**
**Perform other duties as assigned or delegated**
