DUTIES:
Responsibilities include management of Lenel access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems. Must possess a familiarity with Lenel or a comparable electronic security system.
This position works directly with the IT and Security Departments.
• Discusses standard layout and assembly procedures and problems with senior-level technicians.
• May draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
• Review the system logs and error logs for any problem indications
• Physical inspection of all access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection devices to ensure full functionality and proper alignment.
• Test access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection devices to verify correct operations.
• Install and test backup battery systems.
• Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance to the supervisor.
• Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies sytem components to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilizes technical reports and charts, graphs, and schematics for the system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
• Checks the functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions with a supervisor.
• Installation and testing of low-voltage cable systems and devices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• (1) year of maintenance experience with physical security access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection system hardware.
• (1) year of maintenance experience with one or more systems in each of the following categories:
- Access Control System (ACS), LENEL, AMAG, VINDICATOR, HIRSCH, SOFTWARE HOUSE
- Intrusion Detection System (IDS): BOSCH, VINDICATOR, DIGITIZE
- Closed Circuit Television (CCTV): AMERICAN DYNAMICS, PELCO, AXIS, INTERLOGIX, BOSCH, AVIGILON, MILESTONE, TOSHIBA SURVEILLIX cameras
• Certifications in any of the above are a plus.
Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
Ability to obtain and hold a DoD Security Clearance. Must be a US citizen.
This is an onsite position located at Naval Station Newport in Newport, RI. Telework or remote work is not an option for this position.
