As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will use your experience and expertise to support the daily operational control of our sophisticated voice and data telecommunications LAN/WAN system. Responsibilities/Expectations: + Provides technical services to daily operational control of a large complex voice, data telecommunications and LAN/WAN system with technical services + Installs, troubleshoots, tests and maintains all telecom/network equipment and on-site DC power systems including batteries (12V, 24V, 48V), rectifiers, generators, fuse panels, solar panels and grounding + Coordinates with SCADA, Gas Control, Network Services, local operations and company partners + Collaborates with Telecommunications Engineers/Specialists to assure the reliable operations of the Company's Telecommunications assets + Demonstrates technical expertise in specialties, geographic areas or operational functions + Applies specialized knowledge to complete projects and/or work assignments + Other duties as assigned Education/Years of Experience: + Required: High School Diploma/GED, technical/trade school certification or military electronics training and minimum eight (8) years' experience in telecommunications, operations or maintenance + Preferred: Associate's or two-year technical school degree in electronics or military electronics training and valid FCC license, telecommunications certificate or license Other Requirements: + Must possess valid State Driver's License and clean driving record + Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Thrives in a team environment and can build partnerships with others + Currently reside or are willing to relocate within 30 miles of assigned location. + Knowledge of communications services (TCP/IP, Ethernet, Fiber Optics, T1, Wireless, etc.) + Preferred: Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and access point + Preferred: Experience in Pipeline Operations, Utilities, or similar industry Physical and Environment Work Requirements: Must be willing to: + Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces + Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed + Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time + Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) + Use hand tools Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements: + Must be available for 24-hour call-out and to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises + May be required to work overtime + Must be willing to travel daily using company provided vehicle; Overnight travel will occasionally be vital Why Choose Williams?
