** Transportation Safety Manager**
Morton, IL 61550
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the G&D Transportation Safety Program. The purpose of Transportation Safety Manager is to develop and implement industry best practices for transportation safety, FMCSA, DOT, state and local regulatory compliance. This will include development and monitoring of safety-related programs and metrics. This role will be responsible for maintaining existing safety practices, developing new safety initiatives, and supporting driver training and orientation. The incumbent will be required to execute all annual reporting and registrations required to maintain operating authority and continuity of service to our customers.
**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**
* Daily execution of all safety programs, processes, and procedures.
* Driver qualification program
* Driver training and orientation
* Ensure that all federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed on an enterprise level.
* Develop, communicate, and implement driver score carding process with defined goals and KPI's to achieve enterprise objectives
* Develop and lead driver safety training programs designed to meet or exceed DOT regulations.
* Develop and lead safety training programs for operations staff as needed
* Manage the reporting, documentation, and investigation of driver accidents and incidents
* Assist Operations management with other safety related topics
* Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree
* In depth knowledge of all DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations in addition to other applicable local, state, and federal laws. Knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation. Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications - Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, SAP WEB Intelligence, Peoplenet, Samba Safety, Samsara, Truckmate or similar Transportation Management System
* 5-10 years experience in one or more of the following fields: Transportation/Logistics, Transportation Safety, Supervision/Management
