Job Description
Responsibilities:
During their time at The Winery at Bull Run, Interns will get to experience a variety of events. This internship/ practicum will give students the opportunity to grow their knowledge and experience in event sales, day-of event coordination, weddings, corporate events, social events, and event marketing.
Interns will learn and assist in the following areas, including, but not limited to –
• Assist Event Coordinator with day-of event details from set-up, managing timeline, and break-down. • Properly monitor private event spaces during event. • Provide a positive demeanor when interacting with private event clients & their guests. • Provide feedback when conducting after-event discussions with Event Manager. • Coordinate with vendors on the event details. • Shadow final venue walkthrough meetings with Event Manager, client, and catering. • Gaining experience creating Banquet Event Order documents and 3D event layout software for clients. • Learning the life cycle of a private event booking from initial inquiry to confirmation by contract. • Active experience with CRM software. (EventTemple) • Shadowing active venue tours with Event Sales Representative. • Directly communicating with group reservation clients via phone call and email. • Updating client facing, private event marketing material. • Involvement with developing and creating content and ideas regarding marketing and promotional materials for social media campaigns. • Collaborate with additional winery departments. • Other duties as assigned.
Compensation: • Unpaid internship/ practicum. • Internship/ practicum may be used for college credit hours. • To gain personal experience in the industry.
Internship/ Practicum Hours: • Complete 120 - 400 hours of work during internship term, as needed for college credit. • Average of 10 - 40 hours per week, based on the hours needed for college credit. Time Period: • Fall 2023, August – December 2023
Weekly Schedule: • Weekends - Private event day-of coordination scheduled primarily. • Office days – To meet practicum hours, weekday schedule will be split between Event Sales Department, Event Coordination Department, & Marketing Department. • Weekly schedule flexible based on intern’s availability and class load.
