Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Slidell, LA is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This contract position is for the current school year and focuses on delivering specialized instructional support tailored to meet diverse learner needs within a special education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary, middle, and high school students in special education
• Strong understanding of K-12 special education laws and best practices
• Effective communication skills with students, families, and school personnel
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and create an inclusive learning environment
