Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Patient Access Representative II:
- Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the medical center's registration system
- Verify and correct registration errors by the end of the shift
- Confirm insurance authorization for scheduled admissions, urgent admissions, and direct admissions
- Address patient inquiries about Patient Bill of Rights, Medicare Bill of Rights, HIPAA regulations, and ABN forms
- Maintain a high accuracy rate for inpatient admissions and outpatient registrations
Required Skills for Patient Access Representative II:
- At least 1 year of hospital or medical registration experience
- Strong understanding of government regulations, managed care contracts, and third-party requirements
- Familiarity with patient registration and hospital admission processes
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Patient Registration Systems and Microsoft Outlook
