Position Summary

The responsibility of this position is to fulfill the day-to-day duties within the security area. This position plays a crucial role in promoting the credit union's physical security policies and procedures, aiming to safeguard team members, members, equipment, information, facilities, and property. Collaborating closely with the Security Lead, this position ensures that security procedures are regularly reviewed and updated, team member training is conducted, security equipment maintenance is completed, and prompt assistance is provided to team members. Reporting to the Risk Manager, this position works in tandem with the Security Lead daily. The goal is to maintain a strong partnership and ensure seamless coordination between both roles, fostering a cohesive and effective security management approach within the credit union.

  • Security Systems:
  1. Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment and troubleshoot any issues.
  2. Issue access credentials and maintain accurate records.
  3. Respond to access-related issues promptly.
  4. Oversee security equipment by maintaining accurate records of hardware, lifespan, and placement of equipment.
  5. Oversee electronic Security HelpDesk.

  • Incident Response:
  1. Respond to security incidents, including thefts, disturbances, and emergencies.
  2. Direct contact for after hour alarm notifications and responding appropriately.
  3. Follow established protocols for handling security breaches and alarms.
  4. Assist in conducting investigations and preparing incident reports.
  5. Maintain a log of security incidents and actions taken.

  • Security Training and Awareness:
  1. Develop and deliver security training programs for credit union staff and members.
  2. Promote security awareness and best practices among employees.
  3. Ensure that security-related policies and procedures are understood and followed.
  4. Recommend security improvements and coordinate their implementation.

  • Emergency Preparedness:
  1. Assist in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans.
  2. Participate in emergency drills and exercises to test the readiness of staff.
  3. Coordinate with local authorities and emergency responders as necessary.

Education

High School Diploma required; some college preferred but not required.

Experience

Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

Law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
