SUMMARY OF POSITION :

Light of Life Rescue Mission provides services to Pittsburgh residents experiencing homelessness, poverty, and related personal challenges. As we've grown in size, budget, and new facilities, our impact is deepening as we seek to participate in God's redemptive transformation of community.

The Security Support Coordinator supports all departments in being responsive to physical and digital security needs. Under the direction of the Manager of Organization Security, this role is a key element in being vigilant to minimize threats and responsive when needed to preserve safety or network efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Physical Security
    1. Monitor closed-circuit TV cameras and monitor alarms.
    2. Respond to security breaches, threats, and emergencies.
    3. Control visitor and employee building access.
    4. Conduct security checks for specified areas at multiple locations.
    5. Security presence at special events.
    6. Assist with coordinating emergency drills and training.
  2. Network & Data Security
    1. Microsoft Office 365 updates research.
    2. Help co-workers to install new programs or learn about security procedures.
    3. Coordinate communication, logistics and configuration of computer equipment ordered from Managed Services Vendors.
    4. Track IT support tickets.
  3. Security Administration
    1. Organize security alert reports.
    2. Complete reports on security-related incidents observed while on duty.
    3. Create PowerPoint presentations for training.
    4. Conduct routine inventory of IT equipment in the organization.
    5. Prepare audio-visual interfaces while assisting managers for presentations.
    6. Take meeting notes/ minutes.
    7. Other general security and IT tasks, as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Associate degree minimum, bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 1-5 years of experience in the IT or Security industry
  • Effective communication, sound judgement, and keen sense of observation
  • Familiarity with primary IT help desk functions
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Reliable transportation for traveling between sites daily
  • Competence using a hand radio (walkie talkie) and mobile phone
