GVI Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Technical Writer to join our Team in White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Technical Writer to support a U.S. Navy Engineering and Technical Support Services contract. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, analysts, test officers, and program managers to produce clear, accurate, and compliant documentation that supports naval systems development, maintenance, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

\n
• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including manuals, SOPs, engineering reports, and specifications.
\n
• Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content for diverse audiences.
\n
• Ensure all documentation complies with Navy standards (e.g., MIL-STD-38784, SECNAVINST 5210.16).
\n
• Work closely with SMEs to gather source material and validate technical accuracy.
\n
• Support configuration management and version control of documents.
\n
• Assist in preparing deliverables for contract milestones and audits.
\n
• Maintain document repositories and ensure accessibility for authorized personnel.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Engineering, or related field.
\n
• 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a DoD or Navy environment.
\n
• Familiarity with Navy documentation standards and lifecycle support.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Active DoD security clearance (or ability to obtain one).
\n

Preferred

\n
• Experience with Navy systems such as NAVSEA, SPAWAR, or NAVAIR.
\n
• Knowledge of XML, SGML, or S1000D technical publishing standards.
\n
• Familiarity with engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
\n
